The praying mantis (Sphodromantis lineola) is well camouflaged when among plant foliage. It grabs its prey with its specially adapted front legs. However, note that this individual has only one normal front leg, the other being malformed, possibly the result of an injury or hormonal imbalances during development; Ibadan, 1963.
